This product is the Algerbrush II Motor Replacement Unit for customer owned handle.
The ALGERBRUSH II is a handheld rotary instrument designed to remove rust rings from the human eye left behind by the removal of foreign bodies. With additional accessory burrs which are interchangeable within the chuck of the device, the AlgerBrush II and diamond burr options are used as an adjunct to pterygium procedures smoothing corneal and scleral edges and used by veterinarians for treatment of recurrent corneal ulcers.
Since 1970, more than 1 million ALGERBRUSH devices have been used by ophthalmologists, ER physicians, and in many states, optometrists who are trained and licensed to remove foreign bodies from the human eye. Veterinarians also use the ALGERBRUSH. The ALGERBRUSH was invented by Dr. Leon Alger, a practicing ophthalmologist for 40 years. The ALGERBRUSH is manufactured in the United States.
The ALGERBRUSH is approximately 120 mm in overall length, is driven by a low torque motor, and is powered by a single AA battery. The ALGERBRUSH is sold with accessory burrs of different sizes which are interchangeable within the chuck of the device. A replacement motor is also available.
